Boyfriend has a green card and i am applying for a student visa

Hi,

I have given GRE and intend to apply for student visa (session starting in January). My boy friend is a green card holder, and i have recently acquired a visitor visa to attend his convocation .
Will this hurt my chances of gettinga student visa?

I have 4 years of work experience as a software designer.
