  • F1 Visa Parent Problem

Hi. I have a unique case here. My dad is a suspended government employee. He has a criminal case pending against him for which he is suspended. My sponsor is my grandfather. I just want to know what should I answer if the Visa officer asks me what my father does? Should I answer he's retired? Or should I just say he's a government employee (since he hasn't been removed from his post, he's just suspended until his case is over). Please help me.

PS: I'll be going for my Visa for Purdue University. I have a very good profile if it helps.

Since you are sponsored by your grandfather, it shouldn't matter what you answer in your visa interview regarding your dad. It's like if your say brother (just an example) was rogue and your father would have been sponsoring - would the VO care what your brother does?

Just make sure you DO NOT LIE to the VO. So if (technically) he is not retired and still a govt. employee, stick to it.
