Administrative Review is when they do futher security, background check on you if they determined that the documents you presented are questionable, or when you lack significant requirements.

Administrative Processing is done after your visa interview has been approved and they are going to prepare your papers that you will bring with you to the US. These papers will be presented at the POE and will be left at the Immigration Office there.

My fiance had his interview for K1 on May 11, He was asked to submit a joint sponsor. Which he did the following week, at that time they took his papers and gave back a sheet saying visa denied under 221(g) further administration processing required. They did not request any additional documents, just said Please do not contact Consulate we will contact you.
Today is June 17, and still no news.
What is the difference betwn the pink vs. blue slip. and is there really a difference betwn ar and ap, because dos says these terms are used interchangeably.
How long is this process going to take? Did any one else have this experience at the Chennai consulate?

nouri..,i guess there is a difference between blue and pink slip..,but i'm not sure...,well AR/AP is same this mean 221(g) this is not a actual denial this is just a temporary denial and ones they finish this process they will contact ur fiance..,and u have to call DOS and ask if any security check request on ur fiance...,is yes that this means after security clearness the visa will be issued and ask how many security checks..., tell me did your fiance had a full set finger prints or just index??? and did they kept his passport or back to him with IV stemp??? and the security checks take between 2 weeks to 2 years..,

Thanks Ars for replying. I asked my fiance those two q's. Here are the answers. The Consulate fingerprinted both index fingers and returned passport to him with a stamp that says apllication approved. I never thought to ask these q's and he didn't bother to tell me.

nouri..,than its mean it wont take much time full set finger prints means he already have a name hit with someone similar name..,but he just had index so this is good..,now all the rest you can do is keep calling DOS every monday and ask for the status of security checks...,if there been more than one security checks than you should expect 2 to 3 months..,well sometimes only one security check also can take that much long time..,this depend on DOS how fast they do it..,
    best of luck..,

and dont worry his visa will be in hands..,once they complete these security checks

Thanks again ARS. Your responses are giving me hope. I have been calling DOS once a week usually tuesdays for the past 3 weeks. When I ask for status all they say is it under adm. Processing . When I asked them what that is, they give a vague answer. So I just Thank you & hang up. Next time I call, I will ask specifically if there any security checks or should I just wait it out?
    Thanks

    Hello ARS

I just wanted to let you know the status of my case as of today. I called DOS on Monday as you suggested and asked if there were any security clearances. She said there were no security clearances listed and the only status she could give me was that it was under adm processing at the embassy level. I also asked if I could speak to any of the following ladies that you listed. She asked why and said they will give you the same info as I gave you. This is the Phone number I'm calling 202-663-1225. Is there another Ph # I should call. The k1 approval notice expires in July 6. Does this give me any clues?

Default Running Out of Patience with AP

My fiance had his interview in May , He was asked to submit joint sponsor(I-134, 2005 W-2 and 2005 income tax return) which he did personally on May 25. At the end of the a 4 hour wait they handed back his passport with a stamp dated May 11 Application accepted and a blue sheet of paper stating Visa denied under 221g and further administrative processing required. Consulate will contact you (Chennai). It has been over a month. According to DOS he has no security clearances. My question is , What are they checking and is there apossibility of rejection. DOS said that consulate does not hold cases that have been rejected. I am running out of patience.
Is there someone out there who are under similar circumstances. I filed my petition back in January. Please advice.

What is the difference btwn pink vs blue slip. other than pink slip you may contact consulate.
