Hi All,
I am a PhD student with full Graduate Research Assistantship. The course duration on my I-20 is till July 2016 whereas I was given F1 visa until Feb 2016. I got married in Dec 2014.
I am going back to India this December, 2015. My questions are as follows:
1. Is Dec 2015 a good time to apply for F1 visa renewal so that it remains valid until Jul 2016 so that I can travel ?
2. When is the best time for my wife to apply for her F2 if she wants to come around Jun-Jul 2016 ? Can these be done together in Dec 2015 ?
3. If the renewal application is rejected does that mean my existing valid F1 till Feb 2016 will also be cancelled ?
I am a bit confused about the possibilities and the chances of approval. Any advise will be greatly appreciated.
