    Default I-551 stamp and citizenship

    Hello friends,
I have been married to a US citizen since December 2003. I have been residing in the US since Jan, 02. I got approved in May, 2006 and received an email stating that I shall be receiving my green card soon in the mail. I have two questions or issues:
First, the immigration officer did not approve me on the day of the interview, so I did not get my passport stamped. She did write something on my passport with a pen though, it states:
"Sec 245, my A#, name of the city where we were interviewd, IR-6, and the date of the interview".
My question is: Is this the I-551 stamp, if not then how important is for me to have this stamp and how can I get this stamp on my passport.

    Next question or issue:
Since I have been living in US since since Jan,02 (almost 4 and 1/2 years) and have been married to a US citizen since Dec,03 (2 and 1/2 years) how long do I have to wait to apply for US citizenship.

I truly appreciate your answers to my questions. Thanks.

    Default naturalization in 3 yrs

On question #2: You are eligible for naturalization (citizenship) 3 yrs from the date you became a permanent resident (assuming you are still married to US citizen).

    Default Question #1

You can go at the local office and ask for your stamp, there is no big deal.
