Hi
I got visa stamped for Fall-2006 admissions for my masters. I want to differ my admission to next spring as I have some responsibilities at my home I want to stay back in India till jan 2007 then report my college. What is the procedure I have to do for this.
When I called up to my University they said that I have to submitt my I20 then request for a new I20 for spring. and I was also asked to attend for Visa at the US consulate in India for 2nd time for my differed I20.
I am confused regarding, could anyone suggest me?
I was assuming that I need to get new I20 for spring and then come to US without going to US consulate for the 2nd time as I already got stamped.am i right? pls help

No, you can't use I-20 for previous semember, and visa stamp for another.
