    Default b-2 to f-1

Help! I am here in the US on a tourist visa. and still on status (since april 2006). I want to apply for a student visa. I just found out that the original I-94 should be submited to the uscis. What will happen if my application for an f-1 visa be denied? and eventually when I go home (still on status), will there be much of a problem with regards to my current tourist visa? Can I still return on a tourist visa after a year? will the US embassy at home cancell my visa after finding out that I applied for a change of status while on a visitor visa here?

Whether you can come back on tourist visa or not really depends upon why the student visa was rejected in the first place.
