I sent an email to Mumbai consulate and got a reply back from them within 3 days!!. They mentioned that the PCC issued from the Consulate in US is valid for one year.

That can be obtained from Indian Embassy abroad(USA) in 45-50 days. It is required in India for CP interview.

I have Police Certificate from local Police Station in India. Do I still need PCC from Indian consulate in the U.S. for CP?
I am originally from India but am now a Canadian. My consular post is Montreal. I have Police Certificate from RCMP in Canada.
