Hi,
Posting on behalf of a friend, who's a Syrian national. We planned to travel to the USA and booked tickets only to later find out that he requires a DVAT visa to pass through the UK.
He applied and was refused. "I have carefully considered your application but I am not satisfied that you qualify for such a visa. I therefore refuse your application".
Sadly Syrian nationals are not exempt if they have a B1/B2 USA visa. On the application my name was listed (UK national) and the airplane number in and out of the country both ways.
Is there any way of appealing or should he reapply? What can be done?
