GC Holder need to renew his passport

Hi All,
Its first time I am doing this so I have no idea. I have found out procedure to renew the passport from my friends. But Non of them is not on GC so I have no idea that passport renew process is same as normal or I need to provide more paper work.
Any help/suggestion/pointer would be greatly appreciated.
