  • F1 - Convicted, not arrested

    Hello,

Around 10 years ago I was charged (not arrested) with a breach of the peace (I was 17). I appeared in court 6 months later and was given a small fine. This does not constitute moral turpitude. I later sued the organisation who caused the situation and they have since admitted that they exaggerated everything and in essence the conviction was based on lies.
I was given a settlement in a civil court for damages, however as the conviction had become spent I did not/have not attempted to do anything with it as it doesn't really affect me.

I have travelled on the VWP countless times since with no issue.

I've been accepted to study in the US next year and I'd appreciate advice on whether this is something to get worried over.

I am led to believe that it is the arrest element that causes issues more than anything.

I have a subject access request from the police which states I have never been arrested.
