Hello, my younger brother is going to finish high school in Sweden this summer and has applied to the UC Berkeley. If admitted, he will apply for an F-1 visa.
Now, the problem is: I know the F-1 is not dual-intent, and that you need to state a 100% intent to return to the home country after the studies, and also provide proof of this. However, he knows for a fact that once he's done with the studies, he will want to find a job in his field and Change Status to either H1B or permanent resident.
In other words: for now he wants to study in the US and nothing else, but once finished, he will want to change status unless he cannot find any Job whatsoever.
How does he explain this to the embassy during the F-1 interview? Or rather: should he explain it at all, or rather hide his long-term goals?
