J1 Visa - marriage in the US

Hi all, I am currently J1 graduate student. My fiance, who is not from the US, is here with me and we want to get married. I would like to know if it is possible for me to married her here in the US, and then she would go to our country and apply for the J2 Visa... have you heard something like this?
