H1 Visa Transfer - Authority of current employer

I have got my H1 visa stamped in Oct 2015. My current employer in India requested me to transfer the visa to them which I had did. Now, I am asking for travel date and this employer had not responded so far. Request you to help me with below questions?

1. Does my current employer have the authority to cancel my H1 status with the cause of losing project from client?
2. If i apply for another H1 transfer to another company, will that be an issue as just now my H1B transfer was done to current employer.
