Hello,
I am a PhD student on a J1 visa, subject to 2-years home residency requirements. The next academic year is my last one at school, after which I will be looking for a (temporary) job during my 36 months of Academic Training.
My wife will come next year and would be applying for medical residencies. Once I graduate, I am hoping that I will be working while she would be a resident.
Q1) I know she need to apply for Employment Authorization Document. But does this employment includes residency?
Q2) Suppose the 36 months are over, but me, she or both of us want to extend her stay temporarily, say by one more year. Is that possible?
