Hey Folks,
I'm in a bit of a mess and hope some one here has some advice for me.
I'm here on a F1 student visa and filled for a Employment Authorization on terms of financial hardship back in December. This applications seems to have been approved (I got a notice that my card is being produced) last Friday, but I graduated in the meantime. For this reason I sent a letter to my field office requesting a category change a couple of weeks ago. This letter seems to have gone unnoticed, however.
Now, I'm looking to start my OPT but am not sure how to proceed. Do I have to file (and pay) a complete new application?
Has anyone had a similar experience and can offer any advice on how to best handle this case or at least tell me what happened in their case?
I already made an appointment with USCIS to go talk to them in person but it's not for another 10 days and by this point I have waited so long for something that I'm a little antsy to know what I'm dealing with.
Thanks so much!
