  • USCIS I-131 Form (Break the continuous residency) ?

    Hi,

I have read in this forum number of times that it won't effect if you have taken re-entry permit and then you are not required to travel US within 2 years. But I have read this information and want to share with all of you.

    See this...

Instructions for Application for Travel Document on USCIS form I-131.

    Who may file I-131?

    1. Re-entry permit
    a. Read paragraph 3.
An absence from the United States for 1 year or more will generally break the continuity of your required continuous residence for the purpose of naturalization, If you intend to remain outside the United States for 1 year or more, you may be eligible to file Form N-470, Application to preserve Residence for Naturalization purposes.

Please comment on it so others will also get to know what is this.

    Regards,
    Zain
