  • Regarding applying for SSN

My wife got her H1 approved in March 2015 but she could not start working due to some personal reasons, so we didn't not apply for SSN.

Recently we converted the status from H1 to H4, now she has got a offer and new employer is ready to transfer the H1 but employer wants SSN to do background check and I9 verification before starting the employment.

    Questions:
    1. Can we apply for SSN now with previous approved petition?
    2. If a new employer files for H1 transfer, will it cause any complication to the case?
    3. Is there any other options for us?

Please advice us if anyone was in this situation.

Hey, I am Dinnora. I am shifting to USA. And I have heard that, the first important thing you need to have when you are in America is your SSN. For SSN it’s very important that you should have last name in your passport. My daughter's name is Adel but she doesn't have last name because we have given our name as her middle name. Now we want to give her last name which is the combination initials of our last name that is S and G. Although we have seen a name 'Saig' but we need a last name. Please help me.
