Can J2 create and sponsor parents visa DS160 application?

Hello All,

I am on J2 and working as you know it has the option for EAD.

I am preparing my parents application for tourist visa.

I wanted to know is it safe if I put my name as paying for trip expenses and also provide all the necessary documents - (Bank ,Employment,visa etc) for submission to my parents or does it have to be necessarily be J1' in the application and only he can be the sponsorer ?

Is there any J2 who has successfully applied and brought there parents on their papers?
