OPT Reporting- How to justify this job position based on my major
Hi All,
I'll be on OPT from August 6th, 2016 but have already started applying for jobs. I'm an International Affairs/history major and applied for a job as a International Sales and Event Coordinator with a Non-Profit tourism bureau in FL.
The position will assist the team in developing and implementing planned programs for meeting professionals and trade professionals, and facilitate relationship marketing and brand messaging of Florida as a travel and meeting destination. Basically, I will be negotiating and maintaining business relationships which in my eyes relates to all the diplomatic negotiation skills that I have learned as an International Affairs major AND it is a NGO (.org).
Will I be able to justify this position during my OPT reporting?
P.S: has anyone else who is NOT a STEM major had issues/ is confused about what jobs qualify and is related to your major?
