  • OPT Question

    Hi there,

I am a Canadian citizen who just received his EAD card for post-completion OPT. While waiting for my card I was out of the United States (I consulted a lawyer at the time who said it wouldn't be a problem as I do not need a valid F-1 stamp as a Canadian). I have now received my EAD card and my travel signature and all of my documents are in order but I have one quick question. While I understand it was okay for me to leave the US during this period, I was briefly in transit in a US airport and as a result I received a B2 stamp. Will this cause problems for me trying to now re-enter the country on OPT with my new EAD card?

    Thanks in advance!

maybe to clarify further - I know canadians don't need a valid F-1 stamp in the required documentation to enter the United States - does that mean I can just come in with my passport, I-20, offer letter, and EAD card even if my last I-94 was on B-2?
