Need Help - My H1B visa getting expired on September 30th

Hi,

My H1B visa getting expired on 30th September. Wanted advice from you guys on following

1. If i need to get my Visa extended from US, maximum by when should i travel? Will i be allowed to travel in last week of July?

2. Is it better to get the Visa extended from India and them travel to US? or vise versa?

3. How long the extension process will take if i apply from India.
