Traveling to USA on B1/B2 visa while L visa is processing

Hi all,
I have a question regarding traveling on B1/B2 visa to USA for one week for house hunting and getting to know the are we will possibly be living. It is possible to do so with a valid B1/B2 while the L visa request still processing?

Can you travel on the Visa Waiver Program for the purpose of house hunting in between accepting a job offer and having the interview at the embassy to get the work visa?
