Default Problems with Children - can you help with abduction?

Hi there, new to this but really need help. I am UK based and my husband is based in Atlanta. I am going through the whole process of obtaining my I-130 and K3/K4 visas. My lawyer (who unfortunately does not know much about family law) asked me whether I have a document confirming that my two childrens' father does not have parental responsibility. As my ex and I never married and is totally estranged from his children, I confirmed to my lawyer that this is not a worry. My lawyer mentioned that it would be a good idea to get confirmation of this before I obtain my visas - as I may be asked at the port of entry, when I immigrate, about abduction?... Now how am I meant to do this? Any helpers out there?
