H1B & H4 extension: Visa interview

Hello Friends,

I have H1B and my spouse(H4) visa's active till 30-SEP-2016. Our H1B and H4 extension has been approved for next couple of years. We are planning to visit India for a month from Aug 2016 to Sep 2016. My question:

1. Can we schedule an appointment for interview in India for H1B and H4 extension and get our visa's stamped while our current visa's are still valid till 30-SEP-2016
2. Or can we avail drop box facility in the nearest location and get the visa's stamped

Please let me know.

you can get the visa stampled even though your current visa is there till september 2016
Drop box eligibility is when you have attended the stamping at the same embassy (where ever you plan to go now) in the last one year and have been ten printed there. If not, drop eligbility doesnot apply to you and have to attend interview.
