Can I get Green Card?

Well a lot of my known too got the Canadian PR and after that they moved to united states and got there citizenship. I just want to know under what program they got their green card, because no one is telling me the exact procedure. I'm eligible to get PR in Canada but i want to move in United states and get green card by legal way. Can anyone advice me with that?
