I am currently on L1-B (valid until Nov 24, 2016) and will move to H1-B (approved) effective this Oct 1st.
My wife is currently in India and travelling on Sept 7th on valid L2. Once in US, I plan to file for change of status to H4.
1. When does the H4 effective date start after filing COS (tentative filing date Sept 15th)?
2. Will it be fine if we submit for H4 COS any time before Sept 30th and not have out of status problems?
3. Is it safer to get stamped in India and travel after Oct 1st? (Current interview dates are around 100 days wait time)
Please help me at the earliest as I will reschedule travel if there will be any issues for H4 if I file sometime around Sept 15th.
