Urgent help needed for H1 visa transfer from L1

Hi,

Currently, I am working with company X on L1B visa which is valid till 2018. I applied for H1 visa with company Y for which I received the RFE. I have a question on how long I can work with Company X after getting the H1 visa approval.

Also, my family is with me on L2 visa, can they stay in US on my H1 visa approval.

Was H1 filed as COS or as consular processing?
How long have you already spent in US in L1 status?
Was your dependents L2 to H4 filed?
