Hello everybody
I'd be grateful if anyone could help me with the following situation:
My husband has J1 , I am j2 dependent with EAD.
Currently we are in the US. Both DS-2019 and my EAD will expire 9/29/16
Starting 10/1/16 I will switch to H1B(in the company I currently work for, change of status).
My husband has Consular H1B so as I understand, he has to leave the US to activate H!B and return back.
He wants to do it on 9/15/2016(date of appointment in Canada, third country).
I have a couple of questions:
1. How my husband's h1b activation (if done before end of September) will influence upon my current J status and EAD?
Will I lose it immediately after he gets a stamp or only after his return back to the US?
Will I be able to stay legally in the US and continue working during this time gap (15-30 of September)?
