  • Question about initial residency period in US as a green card holder

    Hello!
I heard that once you have your green card, one of the guidelines is to be physically present in the US for a specific time (I've heard 61 or 91 days) within the first year of residency (once you officially entered with the immigrant visa) for you to continue keeping your Green Card and to become a lawful permanent resident. Is this true? Or is this mixed up with something else? In either case, is there an official document online that says something like this?
Just to give extra info in case it matters: I'm the child of an LPR who was sponsored by the LPR's sibling. The LPR is the principal person but we were under the LPR as well. When we entered for the first time we had to enter with the LPR.

    Thanks very much in advance!
