I am a J-2 dependent. I am now pregnant and the due date is at the end of Jan. 2017. My husband and I would like to deliver our baby in the USA. I have all the prenatal checkout in California. We have enough financial support and we both have insurance.
However, my J-1 husband's DS-2019 will expire on 12/31/2016 and his university is not able to help him to extend the DS-2019. Can we file the Form I-539 to extend our stay until the baby is born? Or can we change the J visa to B-2 visa? If yes, who should file the form, my husband or myself?
