My 2017 H1 visa is approved. But right now I am not able to travel to US and like to continue with current employer. I am not in USA now. Is there any deadline before which I should get my visa stamped? How long I wait? What are implications if I have to wait?

You have 6 Years from the initial petition filed year. As your H1 was applied in 2016, you would be considered cap exempt till 2022.
