Fall Graduate OPT Submission Question
Hello everyone,
I am so happy to have found this forum. Could really use some help from anyone who knows these answers! I am graduating in the fall semester so my international office doesn't know how long OPT usually takes as most file it in the spring... so here it goes:
1. I filed for my OPT and they received it on Oct. 31st 2016. I have a job offer that starts January 9th 2017. Does anyone know if I will have approval by then to begin work? Does it really take 90 days in fall semester?
2. Do I have to have my actual card to start employment or is it enough to have approval on the case # (if I get it!)?
3. Is there a way to expedite the process?
4. I have received my notice that they received my case but am not sure if there is anything I need to do with it. Is this just to give me my tracking case number or do I have to verify my address anywhere?
