HELP with I-751 cover letter
Hey guys,
I am preparing my I-751 to send in and have stumbled on the cover letter section. I am from Australia and came to the USA on a K1 visa, my two years are nearly up and so I want to remove the conditions now so that I can get my 10 year visa. Please see below the section of the SAMPLE cover letter that I'm a tad confused about.
Dear USCIS Officer:
I am filing a joint Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence, with my immigrant wife, ----------------. My wife entered the U.S. on a K-1 visa We married upon her arrival and have remained living together happily. We respectfully request that this petition be accepted for removal of conditions on residence for [name of immigrant spouse] and [name of immigrant child].
Am I filing for a "joint" petition when its just me, no children invloved? I am the immigrant, and my wife is the U.S Citizen?
If anyone could shed some light on this i would be greatly appreciated. Hoping to hear from you soon!
