Can a student with F1 visa expiring go out of US and return using visitor visa

My daughter's student visa is expiring in few weeks. So can she go out of US and return back using her B1/2 visa and stay back for the period mentioned.

What would be her purpose of entry on the B visa?

US visas are only for entering the US. If she doesn't need to enter the US, when her visa expires doesn't matter. Do you mean that she will be graduating or will stop going to school soon?
