Hi,
I am applying for my H1 for the first time. I have received my I797 form and realized the surname is misspelled in it. The problem happened with my employer as he did misspelled in the original application submitted to USCIS.
Can anyone tell me how to proceed in this situation? My employer suggesting me to book an appointment and attend the consulate interview as he says consulate people can verify my details with my date of birth and mistake in surname should not cause any issues.
I am in Hyderabad, India and I am in confusion state whether to apply for interview or force and wait for correction from my USA employer and USCIS.
Any help in this matter will be appreciated.
