  • Do I have to remain in the US AOS?

I had a successful K-1 visa interview at the US Embassy in London last Friday (the interview was perfunctory, a couple of minutes). I will go to the US as soon as I receive the visa in the next week or two and marry and move to AOS as soon as possible. Our plan was to settle in the US but due to extremely recent work related developments it may be that we now chose the UK, at least in the mid-term. If we move to back to the UK later this year, after marrying and adjusting status will I jeopardise any of my rights to residency/work? In other words, do you have to remain in the US for a specified minimum period of time after AOS?

    Thanks

    Andrew

You can leave without prejudice once you have US Citizenship, otherwise just abandon your PR status when you leave, form is I 407 from memory.
