J2 EAD query

Hi,
I am currently on a J2 visa and have applied for my EAD.

Jan 31 2017: sent application
Feb 1 2017: Application and documents were received
Feb 3 2017: Receipt notice (I-797C)was sent out
Feb 10 2017: I got the receipt notice.

The I-797C didn't have any info about biometrics appointment and I have not received the letter regarding the biometrics.

1. My question is that do people on J2 need to do biometrics?

2. If so how long should I wait to contact USCIS regarding the letter of biometrics?

If anyone on J2 has recently gone through the process, your help would deb appreciated.

May 1 2017: sent application

May 8 2017: Receipt notice (I-797C)was sent out
May 24 2017: I got the receipt notice

Did you get your EAD?

Did you finally need to do your biometrics?
