  • Medical Exam

    Hey guys,

So, I hope I'm posting this in the correct place. My husband and me are preparing to submit a I-130 Petition for him to move to the US with me. I'm a US citizen and he's a UK citizen. I've got a concern about the process, though. You see, my husband has been off of work for nearly a year with work related depression and anxiety. They're working with him to get the correct medications and get him back to work. However, it's been a long process and his doctor's haven't mentioned letting him go back to work. He's not the sort of person to harm himself or others. He just gets really low, really anxious, and easily stress. I'm worried he wont pass the medical examination. Is it likely that he'll fail the medical because he's been off of work with depression for so long?

Thanks in advance for the input.

Medical examination is all for the venereal and communicable disease. It doesn't have any connection with the depression I guess. This is the section for K1 Fiancé(e) Visas though.

You can find more about medical examination here: https://travel.state.gov/contenthttp...exam-faqs.html

    Good Luck.

      Hey,
actually the K-1 fiance visa medical does check for physiological issues. They ask questions (the questionnaire). If they feel that the depression is a risk to himself or the public, it will be a problem. Let me know if you have further questions.
      --Good luck--
Good luck. I learned the hard way, I hope you don't have to. Immigration is interesting. Not considered as legal advice.
