Hi all,
I am in the US on L1 visa and got accepted to a great graduate school. I am planning to leave my job and start studying this fall. I have a few related questions.
1. my company was planning to do a green card for me and right now we are at stage of applying for PERM certification. Can PERM application be a problem for my F1 approval?
2. If I change change a status within the US, can I start studying if I get a receipt but the change of status is still pending? From my understanding, as soon as I leave my job, I am losing L1 status. The school says I can start while the change is pending but I am wondering if I would be considered staying in the US out of status for this time.
