H1B Ext cum Amendment filed: Wants a B2 Visa

HI All,

I am in India currently. My company has applied for my H1 ext cum ammendment from India on 4th May 2017. My husband is in US on H1B. I want to apply for B2(avoid conflict between H4 and H1) along with my inlaws for a family vacation in the mean time.
What are the chances of me getting B2 while my H1B is already in USCIS for ext cum amendment. Will applying for B2 affect my H1B ext. Also how long does it take via normal processing now a days to get H1B ext cum amendment.

Why not process H4 for yourself and once in US file amendment to H1 request to convert it to COS from H4 to H1?

Having two visas i.e. H4 and H1 simultaneously in USCIS for processing wont create any issues??
Also my husband is in US and his H1 is getting expired in June 2017, he is also applying for his extension from US.
I was told H4 and H1B contradict each other in intentions i.e. one says I do not want to work and one says I want to work in US.
So the chances are H1B ext might get denied.

Please suggest.

Trying to get H4/B2 for yourself and B2 for parent , while your husband has valid petition only for few months, is going to be challenging.
