  • Traveling while asylum pending

    Hi Everyone.

I submitted my asylum application in May 2016, at the moment I have my Permit to work and SS. Luckily I found a job as a engineer in a company, but the position I was hired for require to do some training in Italy, I was told that asylum pending petitioners can not leave USA. but from what I have read It seems there is a possibility since is not to my original country. Also I got married with a USC and I will start the process trough marriage soon.

Does anybody know if If i would be able to leave USA (to Italy for training purpose) without messing up my process in with the USCIS ?
is anybody on the same boat ?

    Thanks.

I believe you will need to apply for and receive an Advance Parole in order to travel abroad. Otherwise you abandon your asylum application and you will have no document that allows you to enter the US.

This is my personal opinion and is not to be construed as legal advice.
