My green card is expiring in Jun, I didn't want to renew the card because I'm applying for citizenship now.
But I will need to travel outside US for family wedding that happens right after the expiration date.
I went to immigration office see if I can get a extension, but they said they only give extension if I apply citizenship 6 month prior to the expiration date which i didn't, and now i can only submit I-90 and pay for renewing card.
That's really bad news because it's a lot of money for me, so I'm wondering if there's any other way to resolve this situation.
