financial statement for F-1 Visa

Hello,

I have to show around 6500 USD as personal funds in my I-20. The rest of the money will be paid by my Department. My question is how much I should show in my bank statement for visa interview purposes. I am admitted to 4 year Ph.D, program. thank you in advance for your suggestions.
