  • NVC to Embassy 5 weeks (is this normal?)

    Hi All,

We have had our K1 visa forwarded by the NVC to the London Embassy on May 11th.

CEAC says its still "In Transit" after 5 weeks. Looking at other timelines this only normally takes a week or 2 to arrive. Tried the embassy but they wont do anything until 8 weeks. Wont this affect the expiry date of the petition only giving me a month or so to do all medical and interview.

Any one else had something similar?

    Thanks in advance

It's unfortunate that the "in transit" time is taking way beyond the typical. The best you can do right now is wait and keep track with the Embassy.

Don't worry about the expiration issue. The Consulate will renew the petition (if it happens to expire). So, that's typically not an issue.

You will still be allowed to have the medical exam, interview and all else. Just send them a friendly reminder when the I-129F is about to expire (4 months after approval date).

Hope this helps ease your stress
    --Good luck--
Good luck. I learned the hard way, I hope you don't have to. Immigration is interesting. Not considered as legal advice.
