B1/B2 Extension

My wife is on L1A in US and I have an L2. My mother is having a B1/B2 and is staying alone
in India (my Father passed away in 2016). Is there a way I can have her stay beyond 6 months ?
I know visa extension is one of the way , is there any other way ?

My in-laws arrived yesterday from India and they got a 1 year length of stay. They were travelling with a few other folks and they got a 1 year stay too. The port of entry was Phoenix.
I am wondering if this is the new normal now (instead of the 6 month stay they received the several times they have visited in the past).
