Renewed passport has a different number than the one on the DS-160!!! HEEELLLPP

OK so this is really an emergency now because our flight is coming up soon and nobody can tell me if I must redo the DS-160 again or not.

Here's the situation:


-I filled out and submitted the DS-160

-Payed the non-refundable application fee

-Went to schedule the interview

-Oh no! Passport expires 2 months after intended travel dates (6 months is required)! Better renew it now.

-Renewed passport and now it has a different passport number.

Do I need to redo the form and the fee? If I have to submit another form will it cause any problems (like "we see you've already submitted a form, now you are suspicious of fraud")?
Can I simply explain this to the interviewer (bring both passports) and have it changed at the consulate?

I cannot afford to have any delays. I'm really banking on a quick visa turn around.

You should be OK if you take both your passports and explain the same to the consular officer.
