B1 Visa Success Story

Hi guys I had my visa interview few days ago & thanks to this forum to clarify many things.

Hyderabad @ 9.30 AM
Reached the consulate by 9AM, in formals with company ID card... I was placed in a huge line. My turn came around 10AM

Interview lasted mere 2 mins....it was like a rapid fire questions :P

me - Good morning Mam - smiling
VO - Good morning - smiling & passport

VO - Purpose of my visit
me - to attend a training

VO - On which technology
me - explained in 30secs, 3 lines

VO - client name
me - Abcxyz (sample)

VO - Please come again
me - Abc xyz

VO - Please come again...
me - Aa bc x yz (i had to break down the word )

VO - Duration of trip
me - 18 days

VO - what is your salary
me - 4.7 Lacs

VO - Are you married
me - No, but planning to get married in November

VO - Whats your designation
me - Software Engineer

VO - Explain your duties
me - explained for 1 min 5 lines....

VO - visa is approved
me - Thank you


She did not ask for anything else..I had Invite letter, day wise itinerary, payslips, bank statements & prepared a lot of questions.

I was confident, smiling and to the point. I hope this helps others.
