Default How important is verification of deposit from bank?

Hello. My parents are applying for an extension of stay and I will be sponsoring them (parents on visitor visa, i am a permanent resident married to a us citizen). We already have forms ready... including a notarized I-134. The only thing that I am missing is the letter of verification of deposit from the bank. I do have income tax returns, bank statements, and pay stubs however the verification of deposit (e.g. letter from bank saying when i opened, total deposits in past year) won't come in until 2-3 weeks from now. By that time it will be less than 30 days before my parents' i-94 expires.

Should i just apply with current docs?

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi,
If you are waiting for the letter from Bank of America, you can call the customer service (wait for option 0) and then tell them that you need the letter same day (ask them to connect to solutions service). Once you get through to a person at solutions center they will fax the signed copy to the nearest BofA branch (the letter includes personal number of the person signing the document). I never received my letter from BofA - and would not have if I did not call them.
To answer you original question - from what I gathered from various forums, it appears that the letter is not imperative - any evidence appears to work just fine.

I just called them & they cant really help. She would connect to "customer solutions" only if I already made multiple requests and nothing went through. No luck!

chatshah...Were you able to get thru??

I called BoA customer solutions and told exactly what I needed. They have templates for this and will send you soon. I got mine in four days. BoA charges $10 for this service (some people say $50, not sure).

Well, I tried calling BOA multiple times twice yesterday aft and evening and again today morn. Today morning I could finally talk to some nice lady, who started with 10days, then to 3 days and finally made her start typing it placing me on hold. I hung up only after they faxed the letter. CSR said that I can pick up from the local branch within 2-3hours.

Hmm, depends upon the csr and your luck and persistent and sweet talking. Yes, they charge $10 for this service.
