  • Naturalization with less than 30 month in USA

    Hello all,

    I want to become American!
I have been a green card holder for 5 years and a half.
I have been physically present in the USA for 24 months. Can I apply for the naturalization? Is it there a change they do not care about being less than 30 months physical in the USA?

    Thanks for your answer!! Cheers!

No. You must have 30 months (half of 5 years) of physical presence in the last 5 years to qualify under the 5-year rule; or 18 months (half of 3 years) of physical presence in the last 3 years to qualify under the 3-year rule, if you have been married to a US citizen for the last 3 years.

This is my personal opinion and is not to be construed as legal advice.
